Pretty much. Plus, generosity or help forced on a person who does not want it isn't a gesture of good will for that person anymore, anyways. It's more an act for yourself. Which the story so far has shown. ML does what he does for his convenience. He wants a pet/trophy husband/plaything? so he's creating the scenario for it, as it were.
i think i can understand ml wanting to provide for mc, and i’m all for that. BUT generosity/service at the cost of my own dignity feels like a huge slap in the face bcs it kinda implies that no matter how hard i work, i can never have the life i want unless some rich, important person in society funds it for me
