Rebecca’s dad was apart the terrorist that killed Liliana’s parents. After the dad died… the villagers treated Rebecca and her mom really terrible. I haven’t read the whole story… but Rebecca had a terrible life that drove her to do all of this.
I can only imagine how horrible the life of the daughter of a terrorist.
The more we learn about what actually happened, the more I’m glad the red-head jumped ship at the beginning. Whether she actually died or just faked her death (I don’t want to assume either way, because both are equally plausible), at least she realized that she had destroyed far too many lives, mostly innocent lives, in her bid for revenge. Even if she only wanted to save Lilliana, it’s still better than going down that path again and repeating the same mistakes.
Though I’d still like to know what happened to lead her down that original path and who her revenge was aimed at.
