As someone who has read both, if you are looking for a story with drama, but want a taste of romance that’s central to the story, this is definitely it. It’s a LONG journey of pinning between the FL and ML, and there are times where you are going to question their love for each other immensely given other characters, but that’s what the drama is for! She’s not written as a common FL in reincarnation romantasy stories—she has incredible intellectual strength, but as a human she has moments of emotional wavering, which I love because it seems realistic; unlike some stories that give the FL too much grace.
I get major Romeo and Juilet story vibes from this manhwa, but aside from that, this is truly a great story and not a common reincarnation cliché that gets boring. The supporting characters are developed wonderfully, which adds to the story greatly. My only real critique would be towards the ML, which for my tastes he seems to “imperfectly perfect.” I’d say stick with it, it’ll be worth it!
And to address the ML’s devotion to the FL; THAT MAN IS DE-VO-TED!
Is this worth it? I read up to chapter 7 after seeing it recommended cuz one of my favorite manhwas is "How to Survive as a Maid in a Horror Game" and people said they had similar vibes. So far though, this one seems like it's gonna be more politically driven than emotionally,
which is fine but the ML seems really interesting so I wanna keep reading but is the romance a major focus later on, or does it stay more in the background?
And how devoted is the ML??
