Is this a sequel to King's Maker? Or is this the mature extended version of that story? What should I read first?

    No. Yes. This is basically the r18 version of that. S1 is generally the same in both versions (save for the s1 ending which is spicy). Just read this version. So that you dont have to move to different versions and pause your reading
