We need to talk about the MC

I just started this because I thought it was going to be a fun read, but this is just ass. I'm constantly mad because it's frustrating how the MC acts and carries himself.
On one hand, he's the stereotypical "I don't want to conform and nobody gets to tell me anything" edgelord Character, on the other hand, he turns around and lets absolutely anyone and their grandma not just walk but outright RUN and STAMPEDE all over him without any type of retaliation.
On one hand, the author wanted their setting to be cool and all; on the other hand, they didn't want to actually have the story and the MC, specifically, carry the weight of said "super cool setting".
You can't have your cake and eat it too. As an author, you have to find a way to make your shit make sense of understand that you need to cut it; otherwise, your story will end up being a piece of shit. And this is the latter, as far as I got until now.
But let's start from the beginning, so you may or may not understand where I'm coming from.

Firstly, he's portrayed as someone who doesn't give a shit and will tell people so. But we are given the hint that he's all bark and no bite when it's mentioned how he cussed all sorts of people out but never raised a hand against them. He also said he never wanted to save the world; he just fought to save his own ass.
Now, listening to this, you might have noticed something: It doesn't fucking matter who he's tried to save, because the fact remains that he fought for life and death, period.
He returns after believing to have gone into his own death, opens his eyes inside a hospital, and is told that 17 years have passed, all his money is gone, his house is a museum, and even his car was sold at a charity auction. Instead of going out and demanding his house back, which is rightfully his, and some allowance - in fact, the same money that the heroes in the past got, because that money was never paid for him - he hangs around the house of the only other Korean on the team of the seven heroes that saved the world once upon a time.
Okay, fair, whatever, maybe he's too dumb to realize these things would be easy to get and are his right to take. The money from saving the world couldn't have been part of his life savings that went to charity, and the house is still right there; they would just need to throw everything into the trash that's been put there as a "museum" add-on, like cameras and shit. It is HIS. HOUSE.
Why do I need to watch the story from the perspective of a dude who's a lazy bum, when he rightfully owns a house and has a legal claim to a lot of money?
Anyway, moving on from this: People are faulting him for "humiliating" this Walker guy from America, when in reality, he just answered a question in kind, which was meant to be humiliating to him and wouldn't have happened had this Walker dude not flapped his lips first. Nobody addresses this fact. Then there's the first fight that happens, because someone "allowed" it. What does that mean? He was in there because a girl that's like his niece asked him to, and they took advantage. MC never allowed anything like it. Why did he not get properly angry when Author wants us to believe that he's such a non-conforming character that doesn't take shit from others? Because he takes a lot of shit here. They excuse it real fast with that bitch complaining about him "owing" him whatever. Bro, that can't have been now; when would that have happened?!
So, since it wasn't mentioned, the Author must want me to believe this happened 17 years ago. Because him getting a meal paid for, 17 years ago or fucking today, really is grounds to do whatever, since he has never done anything worthy of having others indebted to him, like literally going into his certain death and saving all of their collective asses with it. Right? She really should collect every penny she ever spent on his useless ass and be really smug about it, since that will make the audience like her stupid mug.
And what about this white-haired guy? He simply uses him, and I wish the Author had ANY brains to actually make good on the personality and setting they themselves introduced. You have the MC say, in his own words, that he only fought to save himself. You have him say he doesn't wish to become a fucking clown for them.
Well, actually see this personality trait through. Actually be serious and acknowledge the fucking setting you brought up on your own accord for even half a second.
This guy, mere DAYS ago from his perspective, fought a fight in order to not fucking DIE. He went and accepted that he's going to die, no matter what he says, so there literally is no other reason than to save the world (you don't accept death to save your own life, sorry, that doesn't check out). Put yourself into his shoes. What would YOU think? How would YOU react? You're still feeling the weight of all those deaths and the monsters threatening your life and your home, then turn around, people tell you that almost two decades passed, the world is now safe, and people do what you did in order to survive just to have fun now. You're supposed to just come out and do what you did because you simply HAD TO, because they need you to be a monkey in a cage to entertain an audience. How fucking ridiculous would you feel, while sitting on your friends couch, because you don't have a single dime to your name anymore and some greenhorns, who haven't been old enough to ever have to fight for their lives, are getting a big head and talk shit about you, while others try to force you to do something you never wanted to do, but did, because otherwise you would have fucking died?
And now, try thinking of what you would do again from the perspective of the type of character this MC is supposed to be, according to the tell the Author added in at the beginning. It's just hysterical.
