Why would he yearn for her? He genuinely did not like this girl. The whole season I did not see any scene or clue where he liked her. Like the whole season was just showing us how he really is frustrated by her presence.
There is nothing wrong with him not loving FL back, thats fine and valid. In fact he was disgusted and annoyed by her just as he realize how he was being annoying to Gaon too. So him suddenly realizing he likes FL then chasing her just because Gaon is gone would just look weird and awkward to me, like it came outta nowhere.
