The thing is they didnt break up on spot after the accident. MC tried hard to keep their relationship going on but ML just couldn't belive that he was in a gay relationship. MC was tired and guilty(for accident) finally choose to end the relationship and ML accepted it
adding to that, was the blame MC had to shoulder from ML's family...
For the people struggling, how I understand it is, he lost all memories of his relationship in the car crash and verbally stated that he couldn't imagine being in a gay relationship, so they broke up on the spot. But then he returned to a house full of photos/traces of their relationship and started yearning for whatever affection he lost, leading to his agreement to participate in the show? Except he's still conflicted and immature about it and doesn't know how to get closer
