In the novel, you can feel the deep seething guilt and regret that Lyle felt, while looking back at how he dismissed every single attempt that Haejin took to discuss the contract. I’m starting to feel skeptical over the manhwa adaptation, but it’s not too far off. I just hope they don’t glide through the redemption arc, which literally lasted throughout the novel (it was one of the most satisfying redemption arcs, second only to “Banana Scandal”).
