yall piss me the tf off I don't understand why you want to read more into it ur literally like his noona friend who he got irritated by like the man has been moved on what do you want him to do... im telling you right now anything that happens in the later chapters has NOTHING to do with the mc with omega complex he's history in fact he was history a month later damn and do u want him to hang off the taken guy like a dog bc he aint pathetic like yall it's been 4 damn years and he went to the military i really dont understand the readers that bring this up; also he likes another person now geuninely why TF would he want to think about someone else and bring them up when he's trying to make his adult relationship work... he's not an idiot like what tf would he even say... its so irrelevant to this story and the whole reason wooyeon even find out was for the readers' sake so they get confirmation he only likes wooyeon like where is the reading comprehension im sorry but im tired of seeing this shit over and over get a page out of dohyun's book and move on!!
a bit related but this is sth ive noticed from big romance readers and hopeless romantics. ppl are not really keen on the idea that a person truly loved someone else besides them, and that their partner spent time and effort to make their prev relationships work.
i wonder if the general public thinks someone's love is more genuine if the person fits the "i have never loved someone this much before i met u" trope? why do authors keep utilising this trope, and why is it unlikeable for a character to have loved someone else? is it possessiveness? fantasy? is this and conservative society obsession w virginity
Perhaps all of it.
I can’t really speak for others, but in my case, I honestly don’t mind if characters had past experiences (romantically and sexually). My predicament stems from the common trope of experienced top x virgin bottoms. Where Bottoms are often expected to always be inexperienced (regardless of circumstances), while Tops are often experienced.
There’s a power dynamic present in this trope. Bottoms are often— if not always, are expected to be COMPLETELY DEVOTED for the Tops. But Tops aren’t burdened by it.
I can’t really speak only assume, but it’s most likely influenced by conservative stigma
As for past relationships, I don’t mind either, as long as it’s fleshed out appropriately in a story.
Make it MAKE SENSE, basically.
Here, Dohyun downplayed his feelings for Yoonwoo like it wasn’t serious at all, but that wasn’t the case. It doesn’t “make sense” for him to dismiss it that way, unless he’s doing so to prevent further misunderstandings.
for me, it kinda felt like dohyun was never serious about yoonwoo, he went after him mostly due to the fact that he wasn't used to people rejecting him. it kinda felt like he wanted something that he couldn't have. If anything yoonwoo was just a simple crush for dohyun. Also it wasn't just wooyeon that went after dohyun, in the beginning, wooyeon wanted to avoid dohyun so I guess you could say he just kept running away from dohyun. In the novel, dohyun said that if he didn't do anything then wooyeon would have kept running. Dohyun was always the one chasing wooyeon, when wooyeon messed up the classes, dohyun helped him cause he wanted to do it for him, he normally would never ever do that for anyone. he treated wooyeon to food often, coming up with excuses so he could he near wooyeon. everytime they have a drinking party, dohyun is sitting next to wooyeon, there was a scene where someone else was sitting next to wooyeon but dohyun got them to move so he could be next to wooyeon. he practically already moved on from yoonwoo, he gave up knowing that he could never have someone who rejected him. if you compare how dohyun treats yoonwoo to wooyeon, you can tell which one he is more serious about and who he cared about. he acted childish to yoonwoo on purpose, he was always mature, he wasnt used to rejection so he used his cards and that happened to him being the youngest in the club so he played that role to try to win yoonwoo over since he couldn't accept that someone rejected him.
Then don’t read comments like these and just move along.
My points present valid predicaments for potential CHARACTER GROWTH.
It has nothing to do with “reading comprehension” (which you badly need).
Fleshing out details of a story that’s vaguely presented is normal and a common practice for writing. Novel readers (such as myself) possess an overwhelming imaginative capacity that leads to dissatisfaction for details that are not or have not been presented yet.
I see nothing wrong with dissecting story lines, but if you find it problematic, move along and stay at the shallow part of the pool so you wouldn’t drown.
I just don't understand what y'all want bc he never loved yoonwoo- in omega complex yoonwoo just realizes at some point that dohyun actually likes him that's it... and where does dohyun downplay him liking yoonwoo- you don't think it's realistic for someone to reflect on their past experiences and have realizations?? you never think back on something and say damn why was I like that it was never that deep or think back to a past relationship, platonic or not, and think differently of it? he never says he didn't like him; I'm not a hopeless romantic lmfao but getting the facts straight about this situation; you know this is a grown ass man that had the chance to pursue wooyeon or not and wooyeon literally gave him the out by trying to leave the clubroom that day;
Still doesn’t disprove my statement.
Dohyun’s feelings still come across as shallow.
He was indeed given the chance to choose (hence the club room scene). But it wasn’t until he was completely backed into a corner that he decided to take it seriously.
I understand that this is the dynamic of a one sided love tropes.
Also, this has nothing to do with being a “hopeless romantic”, but more on in-depth depiction of character growth and emotions (objectively speaking) for the story’s development.
Well…I kinda agree with you i mean i don’t have any opinions from this comments but like i agree with you because, that’s what you think and wrote in the comment section. Some can also skip the comment and move on, they don’t have to read it entirely. I mean for me, im happy that they’re happy- ( the characters) ehm. LoL. Anyway-
But yeah its a bit annoying some people argue, like “yall piss tf out” uhm…nobody cares if you’re pissed or not? Lmao- if you hate the comment or disagree, you can just freaking skip it- uhh???
Anyway…it was my opinion. Have a good day

My feelings from the novel were a bit different, I get this discourse for sure but I do think he was relentlessly pursuing yoonwoo at the time more for his pride and when you like someone in that moment you become infatuated and your whole world can revolve around them. When you get over them you realize how caught up in the moment you were. It doesn’t mean he was absolutely the love of his life he just felt like he was at that time. People move on, I think dohyun as a character was immature and developed a more sincere relationship with wooyeon and he didn’t realize what it meant to truly deeply love someone until this relationship.
Yeah thank you for that.
The point of stories is to for readers to immerse themselves in it.
Some to escape reality, others to experience things they otherwise couldn’t in real life.
In my case, I read to learn. Be it concrete knowledge, intangible and tangible constructs, and complex emotions.
I often discuss intricacies with my co-readers irl. So it’s baffling to see people going ballistic over a “shared opinion”, instead of presenting their own findings logically.

I saw a comment (from AstroBoi) here about Dohyun’s feelings for Yoonwoo (Omega Complex) being downplayed in this manhwa, and I completely agree.
It seems author wanted to avoid making Dohyun too unlikable, and making the relationship too unfair for Wooyeon, that they decided to downplay Dohyun’s supposed “like” for Yoonwoo (his senior) as a mere misinterpreted “like” or “fleeting crush”. But reading Omega Complex, I beg to differ.
Dohyun pursued Yoonwoo relentlessly, if it weren’t for Yoonwoo insisting and convincing Dohyun to run after Wooyeon, he never would’ve followed the poor boy. Dohyun saying that his “like” for Yoonwoo was a mere “fleeting crush” is so uncharacteristically projected. If by chance Yoonwo reciprocated Dohyun’s feelings (regardless whether the feeling was mutual or not), Wooyeon never would’ve stood a chance.
I really want the author to dig deeper into that unspoken emotion in an “unrequited love.” Just let the characters be HONEST, especially Dohyun.
The reason I feel certain dissatisfactions for Dohyun’s character stems from the lack of honesty. He spoke about his “like” for Yoonwoo as if it wasn’t serious, but he tried to kiss Yoonwoo and pursued the omega with the intent to be in a SERIOUS relationship. The kind of intent that I don’t see him having for Wooyeon.
Remember, that so far, it was always Wooyeon who relentlessly pursued Dohyun. I do understand that Dohyun is being careful not to overstep as Wooyeon is a virgin and all, but the lack of effort on his side is what makes it so unfair and just pitiful for Wooyeon.
In Omega Complex, he was so dead set into pursuing Yoonwoo, but here, he’s so tamed and barely exerted any effort to pursue Wooyeon. Hence the multitude of secondhand embarrassment that I got for seeing Wooyeon (my pookie) trying his best to pursue his Teacher…
I hope they talk about this.
Because even now, with the long anticipated sex scene. I still don’t feel the love from Dohyun.
It just seems like Wooyeon is being used as a replacement for Yoonwoo.
Or, a “convenient” option…
I know at some point this analogy is wrong, but that’s the feeling that I get from Dohyun.
Love can often stem from disingenuous feelings.
Sometimes that’s how strong relationships start. It doesn’t always have to be MUTUAL at first, but i can become REAL eventually.
I just hope author made Dohyun more honest.
“I didn’t like you before, but as I spend more time with you, my feelings grew.” typa shit.
Regardless, Dohyun’s so fucking hot so to hell with my analysis ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
