Novel reader here, the only reason the plot feels confusing currently is because we have not seen Karas's strategy - we see what Abel and friends are trying, we see what various members of King's heart trying but we don't see what Karas is actually getting done and that part is very deliberate. We are very close to the climax now guys, everything will make sense very soon and when it does you will realise how good the plot actually is.
