Im rereading this again, and I just wanna point out how well they talk about each other's life span, and their mortality as husbands, I know this is such a silly little story containing monsters, and they barely talked about it, but I really did like how Denev didn't try to look up like a magic way to live forever with Arcad, since there's a beauty in growing old, a privilege to die at an old age and have lived a life being cared by the people that loved you the most, the fact that our mortality is limited IS a good thing, and a beautiful one, and ofc as much as one would love to live a million years with the person you love the most, but it's not possible, and that lingering love and mourning of someone is just proof of how much you loved that person, Denev knows all this and still knowing how short Arcad will live, he is willing to just take his time to demostrate how much love he feels towards Arcad while he's still with him YES I'M OVERTHINKING STUFF, BUT I LIKE IT LIKE THAT
