Well yeah Dane is trying to hide his secondary gender. But tbf Grayson has done stuff to others that could warrant a death attempt or two like the whole thing with Chase and the dog. He is a sociopath that had to be given lessons to fake emotions and oh lord his 'helping' is harmful to your health. I read the novel and I think it's is him getting smacked in the face by karma and ending up with someone harder to deal with than himself.
Dane doesn't even care with Chase. He just want to get back to Grayson and be paid by Josh.
