PLS READ THE NOVEL GUYS!! Okay for the non-novel readers fretting; the worst arc is almost come to a pass. Again, let me remind you guys that Zhenya is a psychopathic FSB soldier who is incapable of feeling basic emotions, he has never received any parental love nor has any familial connections; of course, this DOES NOT excuse his actions, he is a horrible person, but Kown Taekjoo was initially sent as a spy, so Zhenya felt no remorse for him whatsoever. Zhenya, however, falls first AND HARD!! the chasing arc is soon, and Taekjoo will escape; only the next 2-3 chapters will be uncomfortable. The story is very realistic in some ways; Zhenya doesn't just fall head over heels for Taekjoo and vice versa. It's uncomfortable, slow, toxic, and incredibly dark. the tension is insane!!
Zhenya is attracted to Taekjoo initially, and then it turns into blind devotion, pure obsession; he loves with no restraints, and in his life, Taekjoo is THE only thing that matters. He will kill for him and die for him as well (quite literally) . The character development in the second book is insane; its gritty, hard to digest, but insanely well written! For taekjoo its a bit different; he has a lot at stake and a lot he won't give up like his mom and his job, which is why they will still clash in the future. However, Taekjoo too falls in love with Zhenya completely; for Zhenya, he grows as a person and finally learns what it is like to feel loss, pain, and love. Taekjoo and his mom are the true family he genuinely makes. For Taekjoo, he learns to love himself more when he sees how much zhenya is willing to sacrifice for him; he starts wanting to live for himself! the book is so much more descriptive and you actually can feel them fall in love (+ lots of smut) I have read the book atleast 10+ times, and i think its still one of the best BLS written.
