it's a fictional organization that capture and contain anomalies or SCPs. Any paranormal, supernatural, and other mysterious phenomena counts as anomalies.

I mean that "fictional" universe he got dropped in. Is it something like the SCP Foundation? Like different people write different stories in that universe? And our MC is equivalent to a superfan who knows all entities by heart and becomes an SCP member?
