From what I remember from the novel. Rebecca’s dad was one of the terrorist who was involved (or the main perpetrator) in the deaths of Liliana’s parents. So people of Trovoc treated Rebecca and her mother really terribly because of his crimes… so when she went to ML’s country… Rebecca used the love potion to get revenge.
It’s sad… Rebecca and her mom didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. But from society’s perspective they couldn’t get any justice so all that anger and resentment was directed towards killer/terrorist’s family :(
It's just expected, isn't it? Traitor family always been treated as traitor too. And Rebecca still very wrong because she decided to use love potion on three people and get revenge that killed many innocent people. At the end she's way worse than her dad
She is… i felt bad for that period of her life… it’s true a traitor’s family treated as such. But watching documentaries of how people who were related to such dangerous individuals are affected by the aftermath… to the point some had to change their name names or uproot their lives out. It just tragic… to face society scorn while the true perpetrator is dead leaving their families to be harassed.
When Rebbeca used the love potion to start a war like you said it made her no different from her dad. I hate how she handled things, she was truly a horrible person… her committing suicide after seeing Liliana doesn’t make things better, her bad deal with the demon to change things didn’t make things right.
Tbh, that is why in that time period, traitor, treason or rebel group alway get punished as family.
So that their family member didn't get a chance to plan a revenge.
It's kinda sad, but needed at the time.
