Ian will play mind games with Michelle and humiliate him in order to get revenge on Michelle's father. Michelle isn't even at blame but he receives the punishment? No, thank you.
Ian isn't cute or charming or interesting. His trauma is stereotypical of yaoi stories and it lays flat. His reason just feels like cheap angst and the author doesn't dive deeper into the aftermath of getting abused sexually.
Show us Ian struggling with mental health. Show us how he feels scared, ashamed, hypersexual, how he hates touch, nightmares, panic attacks, depression, anxiety. Idk anything!!
Wish we got more Michelle maturing and growing a backbone but that doesn't happen either.
In the end Ian feels guilty of how he treated Michelle, so it's not really love.
