I wouldn't say that's exactly how it goes. She teaches him magic for a few weeks when he is like 10-12 years old, and then she blocks his path to her so he isn't able to see her for 10 years. So she doesn't raise him and she doesn't see him grow up or keep in touch with him. But I get what you mean. If she was his nanny or maid I would also say no thanks. Especially if she sees him grow up, because then it's like at what point did you go from what a cute child to I want him?? In this case she sees him a few weeks as a child and then again when he's all grown up. No weird time in the middle.
