Okay I believe if I remember correctly; The system and game ig is actually Seo Hojin’s manifestation of wanting his brother to live a happy life. I don’t actually remember if he had an accident or not since I looked at spoilers for this like a year or two ago. But Hojin knows how soft his brother actually is and adores him and wanted him to be better off. **Okay I went back to the forum and found it for you, Seo Hoyun did die due to overwork and Hojin became a PD like Hoyun eventually managing to create the idol world Hoyun is a part of rn. It was very depressing when Hoyun first found out about it.

Hoyoon did die from the car accident the we saw in the early chapter. Iirc Hojin tried to commit suicide before encountering a mysterious power that can give him a chance (actually many chances) to revive Hoyoon in exchange of his own life force. This idol game that we're currently reading about is actually his latest chance to bring Hoyoon a new life. Hojin actually has witnessed Hoyoon dying multiple times during the various courses of these 'games'....

Current Hoyoon is revived, not yet permanently, in a somewhat another world, this idol tycoon one? Original (older) Hojin is currently monitoring Hoyoon's progress from a place between those two worlds (we saw a glimpse of him a few chapters back). Og Hojin tried to commit suicide back after Hoyoon's death and before he found the mysterious power that brought Hoyoon back to life in anither world.

hoyoon died from car accident, hojin got depression and almost committed suicide but he found a strange system to revive Hoyoon. He accepted the power to revive Hoyoon in exhange of his own life energy. He was transported to some place, let's say a space between dimensions/worlds. His mission is to revive Hoyoon in another world but he still needed energy to make the revival permanent bcs his own life force isn't enough. So that's why he made these games so Hoyoon could gain points for energy.
He has tried reviving Hoyoon in many other 'games' like being an actor, politician iirc and many others but still they weren't enough so Hoyoon always ended up dying in those other games. So this idol game we're reading in this manhwa is one such game designed by Hojin so Hoyoon could earn points to be converted into energy so he could stay alive permanently in this new world. The system that is with Hoyoon rn is actually an extension of Hojin and Hoyoon will get suspicious of it soon.
