I read this manga a bit ago, when the new chapters were coming out. Re read the first season and couldn't wait, so read the novel start from finish in 2 days.
I wrote a comment a while ago that the alpha was not a golden but a diamond which meant he could change an beta through knotting to an omega (saw this as a spoiler on reddit) my god was it wrong, I should of checked before telling others.
The beta, is a beta. The alpha is a ghost, ghost is a urban legend.. one who can change a beta into an omega. The beta is a diamond dust... an almost soul mate of an ghost with phermones they can only sense, only known once in history to have occurred.
Don't want to say too much, but read the novel... the story is beautifully written, the emotions, pain and love is so described explicitly that you feel connected to every character and hurt for them. Season 2 and maybe 3 will be heartache, pain and alienation just like his painting. Unless you know the novel's ending I imagine many readers will struggle to deal with the slow burn of waiting for resolvement. Even if their love, there will be pain as reader knowing what the MC does not, and what the seme is going through silently There will be a long period in this story showing the pain of silence, the lies behind it.
I hope it is displayed well once the new seasons come out, and he does not just became a seme that's hated. But one deserving of a tint of sympathy due to disastrous biological effects... and the inability of control and will, the one thing he most strives his life on. We'll see... read the novel.... if you want more knowledge and are not a reader without illustrations just let me know
