Yeah. And I, like a stupidass person kept reading with the hope that the assault won't happen again but... Well. Also, from other comments it seems the ending wasn't grand either so, good thing we dropped.
The author really said "let's make the guy gain magical powers and make him get sa'd and call it a story"
