Well when they were dating as a teenager Ashley’s father didn’t approve them. He said Koi is a mutt. That he didn’t had Ashley to
Mate with a poor mutt (They thought Koi was a Beta back then) but Ashley loves Koi nonetheless regardless of his gender and his traits. So Ashley’s father separated them. He locked Ashley in the basement for 3 days and nights. After Ashley got out he talked to Koi and they decided to elope and get married once they are of legal age.
Koi said to wait for him at the train station but Koi never showed up. He just called Ashley and said that his abusive father who beats Koi to pulp was diagnosed with cancer and his days was numbered. Ashley why would Koi his father who abuse and beats him over him his lover but Koi just said “he is family”
Ashley said he will wait for Koi. Ashley believed Koi’s promise that he will never leave him but Koi never showed up. Ashley got dragged by his father to the East Coast. Months later Ashley came back differently and asked Koi of his reason and asked Koi to come with him in the East Coast but Koi couldn’t leave his dying father so in the eand he still choose his abusive father over Ashley. And told Ashley that he has everything but his father only has him. Thwt broke Ashley’s heart because in their house he never thought he owned any of it not even his parents and in his heart the only person who’s truly his was Koi but then Koi sees him as a person who has everything. So Ashley broke up with Koi.
They got separated for 10 years. Koi saved up money to fly to the East Coast to chase after Ashley. He was still in love with Ashley and wanted to get him back so yeah he saves up and move to the East Coast. What he didn’t know was in that 10 years Ashley was destroying himself out of his hatred for Koi. He hated Koi but he can’t bring himself to hurt him for revenge so he hurt himself instead. So they got back together but Ashley has a severe PTSD of their separation from that time. Whenever he’s in the trans of pheromones poisoning his mind always comeback to that time at the train station. (IT WAS ACTUALLY HEART BREAKING READING THAT PART. I LITERALLY CRIED) Well Koi confronted him and Ashley was like,” I can’t trust you, you’ll leave me again once someone more pitiful than me shows up. I have to be broken so you won’t leave me. Even pity is ok.”
Ashley just builds those villas but he never really locked Koi there. Koi is also aware of his trauma so he just let Ashley.
