I think at this point, the only explanations for the non bl but bl centric plot are either: 1. The author has another "name" and wrote doujinshi bl under that name, but he wanted to officially write an action manga with his actual name. However, his bl tendencies bleed through and now it is more bl than anything. 2. The author is Bl baiting to get readers in an action manga...counterproductive to the actual mission, but it makes sense. Looking at the covers it looks more like a typical bl cover than an action one. I have read action without bl before (like a lot of us in here) and most of their covers dont look like the covers of this manga. 3. It was originally bl but no bl magazine wanted to accept the manga, so the author erased those scenes and made it into an only action manga...but some things stayed the same, and now the author swears it is an action without bl manga.
