Yes, Ashley and Koi’s story is actually really good—and painfully heartbreaking. There’s a reason why dominant alphas, like the Millers, have to undergo regular pheromone extraction: without it, they can lose control, go crazy, and eventually suffer memory loss.
When Ashley refused to attend the pheromone parties, he began losing some of his most important memories of Koi. And whenever his anxiety becomes extreme, his mind always returns to the same memory—the train station, where he was waiting for Koi, who never showed up even though they had planned to run away together.
And there’s also his deep fear of becoming like his dreadful father, who was obsessively possessive of his mother to the point of abusing and imprisoning her.
Bro, I took breaks OFTEN when I was reading it cuz of all of their freaking miscommunication and misunderstandings I LOVE KOI BUT DANG HE DON'T GOT ANY BACKBONE At first it was all cutesy and shi but soon turned into a massive headache, I screamed at my phone multiple times and I was nearly giving up like how tf does he not learn from his mistakes smh (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
