I think it's because he genuinely upset mc keep treating him like a cum dispenser so many times, uke not even look him as a friend at that time
The next arch will probably be the MC finding out ML is taking suppressors. Then having to actually communicate how he feels about ML instead of being swept up in ML’s actions. I like this for them. Because I think they clearly always liked each other but MC isn’t male centered so he has his own life and ambitions. Also a bit of resentment because he thought he’d be the Alpha and ML would have been the Omega. That’s where the issue started. ML has been trying to bridge a broken friendship and now an extremely fractured situationship based on rape and his lust/desire to be loved by MC. It’s unfortunate that rape had to be apart of this dynamic. ML’s personality doesn’t seem like the type even in the heat of the moment harm someone they love so it sucks they wrote that in. We could have taken the MC went into heat kind of turn instead of rape or something like that. They unnecessarily tarnished the ML. I’m going to read next season trying to forgive the character.
