this book is not great horror. it doest the boring mistake that many crappy horror tales do, which is gore, then gore, then more gore, and more gore. it loses the shock value, you get desensitised from the atrocities happening and it becomes a boring task to read it, the cases are all too similar and the shock value is always the same, a woman being abused. the premise is mildly good, when i read the officers profiles it gave smth like criminal minds, but the content itself I'd compare to urbanspook's The Painter, just gore with no purpose
