I feel like people are too harsh on him, he was 1000% a jerk to her yeah, but if Gaon was the female lead (as she was in HIS eyes) and we think about all the first, second, and even third impressions he had of Doyoung, its so clear why he acted the way he did. And yeah it was dramatic and petty, he's a teenager who hasn't learned to handle himself better. I'm glad he didn't jump to liking her and I'm glad they all chose to walk away in the end of the high school arc.

I agree mostly, I get why he was the way he was with her but even if Gaon was a fl and he treated Doyuung that way I would dislike him.
Doyoung was kinda weird and creepy around him so I get why he didn't like her that much but my problem with him started when he started using her when person he liked was against that, If Gaon was the fl he would've never felt bad about it bc there are those type of mls in romantic gerne a lot and I hate them.
Like im not saying I hate hate him but I dislike him, I just hopr that author gives him a bit of hell before he gets with Doyoung fr now. Like I hope she doesn't automatically forgive him, I would even like if this doesn't turn out to be a love story like they never really get together bc how similar they are and keep hurting each other. Just bc you love someone doesn't mean they are right for you
That's 100% fair, and I certainly don't think *everyone* would like him in that scenario, my point specifically was about people who treat him like he's one of the male leads who have ACTUALLY committed crimes against the MC, rather than just simply being a jerk with the chance of a redemption+yearning arc
That would definitely be a refreshing twist~ I think I'd like it whether they end up together or not, those are two sides of the same coin for me.
I think the distance helped them, especially Doyoung, heal a lot. And Kihyun (to me) seemed to already be reflecting at least somewhat for a long time - even if he can't grasp it yet. It's that difference between when they were all kids caught up in their own feelings vs meeting again are adults who understand each other more than they did.

Well, if Kihyun can get over Gaon I'm sure there's definitely a possibility that she got over him :D Especially if she's become as confident as she looks right now as of chap 24
I really hope she doesn't stoop to his level again and is actually with someone that loves her. I would even be happy if it ends up GL
But its obvious that he liked her in some way, people are usually attracted to people that are like them
