Yes it is a good summary of the story, yep.
In truth, she is alone no matter what she does, so at some point, some stuff has to happen: or her religion becomes magic, or somebody helps her for real, or he acquires that much knowledge she needs so she understands that she needs to stand alone. I think it will be a bit of the second and third statements.
It's just a wild guess of course, but the ML cannot give her all the things she need, because he has other interests.
the FL follows a poorly fleshed out religion that only exists to legitimize her docility and allows her to normalize the METRIC FUCKTON of abuse she experiences. ML quite literally approaches this devout FL with the intention of emotionally manipulating her to fall for him (bc he’s bored ig) by sending gifts and comforting her, but gets shocked when she’s pious- be so fuckin fr. ML then doubles down on manipulation tactics but inevitably, he’ll fall first. maybe the FL knows this? both her “fathers” harbored an obsession for the FL.. and her brother prob did too so maybe she recognizes the signs?
no part of this is cute or wholesome. the ML fucked with the FLs abusive family’s already abysmal finances and inadvertently led to the FL being SOLD, BEATEN, and nearly SEXUALLY ASSAULTED by some fuckwad.. JUST SO HE CAN RESCUE HER?!?!
