That last paragraph was my main concern about it. I agree with what you’re saying but there is more reasons to like the manhwa than to dislike it. Haneul definitely needs to work on himself. 100% I think my initial review says that he pisses me off and just seems like a pussy so deep in the fucking closet. i would NEVER date someone like him
I tried liking this so much because of how highly rated it is but I just couldn't go past how the relationship between the MCs seemed to have so much issues. Haneul needs to go to therapy to work on his trauma and issues before he dates.
If you're someone who needs to immediately break up with your partner at the slightest conflict, you're not ready for a relationship. Dajeong was clearly walking on egg shells around Haneul because he was afraid of Haneul wanting to break up again.
I feel like they should've broken up back then and Haneul should've worked on his issues and went back to Dajeong to reconcile. It feels like Dajeong is constantly accommodating Haneul while repressing his own desires. That feels like a very unequal relationship dynamic and feels unfair to Dajeong.
This manhwa needed more chapters to work out on Haneul's issues. He still feels like a half baked character who is relying on his boyfriend to solve all issues in their relationship and Dajeong seems like the only one who is invested enough to communicate. Haneul was right about Haseong being able to communicate himself better than he can. Like yeah, please work on that now, Haneul. Haseong and Haneul are like Hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby meme when it comes to how well adjusted they are in their feelings. Yeah, Haseong confessing to someone who was in a relationship was shitty but at least the dude knows how to speak his mind.
Also, Yeah Haneul doesn't need to come out to anyone if he doesn't want to but his behavior is one of the prime reason I won't ever date anyone so deep in the closet. I don't think I could ever be with someone who treats our relationship like a dirty secret.
