Mostly because it’s irrelevant and a waste of a chapter. It’s understandable if the main couple is a slowburn, but for there to be a side couple already in an type of relationship be introduced way much quicker than the actual main couple, it starts to get annoying. It would make more sense for the main couples story to be over and then introduce a side couple instead of just outright putting it in peoples faces.
We should just be thankful we got a little tasty treat. Because this seems like this is gonna be 200 chapters of slow burn.
