To be completely honest, this spin off just makes our main couple more mature and we can clearly see a remarkable growth between them. I think the purpose of this is to showcase a new possibility that this story can bring. I've been loving the new character tbh and I feel like his couple would be introduced sooner or later (maybe after the stalker attack?)
