OK warning: TL;DR rant. Suho is starting to tick me off. Don't get me wrong, Suho is such a loyal lover boy, but he kinda rubs me the wrong way in the latest chapters. AND I HAVE VALID REASONS. We all do.
First, he is immature. (I know he's in his teens, but c'mon.) And if he ends up with Dajeong, they don't really balance each other out since they're both immature when they're together. Also, the story is kinda sus since the author is dragging it out and adding more drama and hurdles between Jinyoung and Dajeong's romance. And there's a confirmed second season, so I don't want to go into details.
If Dajeong ends up choosing Suho because she magically realizes that Suho was taking care of her during her year-long hospital admission, then bro, you didn't have to use Jinyoung as the instrument for that. And if Jinyoung ends up being a bad guy, idk anymore.
Second, even if he doesn't end up with Dajeong, I hope he doesn't end up with Hyobin either (even though I initially shipped them together). But the moment he told Hyobin that she should tell Dajeong that he walked her to the front door, that raised a red flag for me, bro. I know you like Dajeong, but you didn't have to make Hyobin a liar. And if Dajeong asked you about Hyobin, you would've probably lied too. The audacity.
Hyobin is good at reading the room, too. She let Suho go, even though it's implied that she lied about her house being close and just across the crosswalk. Her home is actually about 20 minutes away, since her mom called and told her to wait for her for 20 minutes. And she probably went along with his request (or should I say demand?).
Even though she wanted to invite him over for dinner, thank goodness she didn't. Kinda serves him right to see Dajeong and Jinyoung being all lovey-dovey after that.
His only personality is being such an avoidant Dajeong simp. I don't even know what Hyobin saw in him. TBH, what I hate about Hyobin is that why she liked this man in the first place. I mean, there's gotta be some backstory to that, right? Not just because he's tall and handsome, right? If those were the only key factors, then she should've fallen for Jinyoung instead.
I mean, Suho showed 0 interest in her, so she should know by now that there's no chance. I mean, she probably already knows. But thank goodness Hyobin's a very big girl's girl. She even sensed that there's something going on between Dajeong and Jinyoung. And a bit of something between Gyuri and Dokyeom, too.
She knows her place and doesn't force herself onto Suho, which honestly made me dislike Suho even more because the contrast is unreal. I know Suho and Hyobin are childhood friends, but he still has to know his boundaries too.
She's only strict when it comes to archery, but her juniors still adore her, and that says a lot about her. She's trying her best to fit in with the group and doesn't mind making occasional jokes. It's also probably hinted that she's a bit of a tomboy or simplistic during their outing, but despite that, she's still beautiful in nothing more than a shirt and jeans. SLAY QUEEN. That's why I love her so much. Why is she being wasted as a side character?! She also is a mama's girl, awww. She deserves to be the main character in another story, tbh.
Please don't make her turn into a bad girl out of jealousy in the second season. PLEASE. I BEG. Make Jinyoung x Dajeong and Dokyeom x Gyuri happen. And give Hyobin someone more mature and capable. Hyobin, as the most mature person in this story, deserves a mature person, not a manchild. PERIODT. Suho can go back to his ex, tbh.
And I wouldn't mind Suho having some character development next season, but I really hope he'll move on immediately and not drag his sulky ass throughout the entire season. I've had enough of his pathetic manchild love being masked as consistently yearning. And I hope he does not end up choosing Hyobin out of convenience, and Hyobin magically accepts it, just because finally she'd been chosen. I WANT HIM TO EARN FOR IT ALL THROUGHOUT, with hardwork, and not just few chapters voila magic.
IDK why I'm so passionate about this, but I'm so tiredddd of him being such a drag. I came here to read a sweet story. I don't mind a bit of drama. But it makes me anxious too, constantly expecting Jinyoung to be the ML but worrying that the author might turn it around and make Suho the ML based on how much he yearns for (or should I say, is obsessed with?) Dajeong, and how much history they have together.
It's painful for me to see Hyobin yearning for someone like Suho too??? I mean, WHY THE LOVE TRIANGLE? They could literally have their own stories and character arcs without having to revolve around the same person.
Because you know, it could've been bearable, like how it was okay with Gyuri and Hyobin having one-sided love. But Suho's love makes it more annoying. Instead of me pitying him, I did pity him at first because he probably had been yearning for her for years, but now it's just ticking me off. I resonated more with Gyuri and Hyobin's pain, especially in their scenes.
And Hyobin especially, because she doesn't do anything about it, which makes it more painful because she's only satisfied with watching from the sidelines. I know Gyuri and Hyobin's one-sided crushes don't weigh the same as Suho's because they probably only knew their crushes for a few years, compared to Suho, who has known Dajeong since childhood. But if it turns out that Gyuri and Hyobin's crushes are also longtime ones, then it would be even more painful.
I really hope that's not the case for Hyobin, though, so she can immediately move on and be with someone she truly deserves-and vice versa HYOBIN AMBASSODR FR.
