Imagine: The sorcerer wanted to make a deal with the devil for selfish reasons. That's why he made MC use that elixir to create that tree. Maybe that tree was the thing that gave life to Demon and his energy was what drove the monsters here.
The sorcerer would be defeating the monsters as a hero and making a deal with the newborn demon to get stronger, eventually his greed getting the better of him when the demon realized he could do better.
Eventually MC's mom would be burned as a witch and the demon would consume the sorcerer's soul. The villagers would see this happening and capture the demon using sorcerer's book.
The would use the demon to keep their land safe and use MC's mom as an excuse, like they burned the witch and it fixed their village. They would try to get rid of MC the same way but he would survive because (insert reason, I'm tired)
Later, MC would learn the truth, help the demon, make a deal with him and become the actual witch. He could burn this village and create a new one where everyone loves him and demon uke would be getting a twisted religious figure to spread his influence.
Maybe they would be planting more trees and creating more demons, or Demon ML would drive monsters into other villagers where MC would defeat them to spread ML's influence even more. Maybe even creating a cult for him.
It would be funny, he would become what the sorcerer tried to do and what killed his mother.

The villagers torture (not rape) the demon so he could use his powers to keep monsters away from their land. This way they would be morally gray than just cartoonishly evil. Then MC would learn the truth and feel conflicted.
He doesn't wanna torture anyone but he also understands why they're doing it, he's in a corner. When he wanted to learn more about the demon, he uses his powers to reveal MC's past. MC wants revenge from the villagers but he also feels guilty for destroying it because of a mistake he made.
Demon gives him an idea, MC makes a deal with the demon and drives away all the monsters that were attacking, eventually becoming the witch the village was scared of.
Children would be left alive to become cultivators of the land who loves their ''savior'' which is what MC wanted (being accepted in a community), and their parents would become mindless worshipers to the demon they tortured.
MC would be getting a loving community, Demon would be getting worshipers and the village would drive away the monsters. Everyone would be getting what they wanted in a twisted way.
MC would become the witch they were afraid of, Demon would be the new master taking control and the village would be reviving with the powers of evilllll
