He didn't know Tae could give birth, so he clearly thought someone else had to, ie his spouse ie Larry.
Plus Tae being adopted further added to it since Larry is blond and not Korean also.
Now Tae not realizing that was his sister was a bit of a stretch.....but heartbreak can cloud your judgment I am sure. I would probably panic and jump to conclusions too if my ex, who I still loved, showed up with an attractive and very pregnant person talking about weddings....
