Right? It's not like the child traumatized the mother. The mother was traumatized by the society. Run away from it if you want. I'd do the same. But leaving your child behind who did nothing wrong and even ignoring him was basically cowardice.
What a weak reason to abandon a child. Can you imagine leaving your child to his grandma and ignoring him for decades was a good decision? If they wanted him to enjoy the high society so bad, at least for winter they could keep him with them. While he grows up, they could tell their reasons. He wouldn't be so twisted now.
They just didn't want him. He was a burden to them, that's it. If you're going to abandon the child, don't bring him in the world and let him be a cheap slut.
