Her father was forcing her to get married to the king to control him. The curse placed on ml is by fl's father too. Anyway she wanted to run away with Lawrence but he didn't want to let go of his position as a knight. Also he refused. He thought even if she became queen, they would still be in each other's lives cuz it was a political marriage anyway. Abandoned by her dad and lover, Haley jumps. Also she gets a vision of what all would happen if she marries thr king. She sees the tragedy and downfall of everyone involved. She realises she as Hailey cant change the story but mc from another world can. Her intention when she jumped is not for body to die, she knew the soul be would replaced when she dies.
So in the whole story becomes a haooy ending only because og Hailey sacrifices herself. She knew that sadly
