I get that he's trying to play the child in order to go unnoticed by his enemies until he can go and clap them, but then he should probably put in more effort. At first, he can't even swallow his fucking pride to cry when everyone was worrying about him not crying. Then a "warm hand" is supposed to be enough to make him cry, when literally being in her arms before didn't. He hears that the father somehow can't teach him Necromancy. But he needs it for his revenge. Why not tell the mother that he wants to learn Necromancy? Why not stand your ground? Say you'll learn it on your own, the dangerous way, if she's not willing to give him a teacher? He simply gives up. And don't get me wrong, I know that he will learn it sooner or later and apparently, his weird teacher will talk to her, but why would even need that? Also, he was used, abused and betrayed in his last life, so why is he so comically easy to manipulate? The was this "teacher" talks to him about Necromancy, it feels like a rehearsed sales pitch. It's like she came in determined ro talk this child into learning Necromancy. And that would mean she has an agenda. Why would she be able to tell what he wants or doesn't want when she just saw him for the very first time and didn't exchange a word directly with him before asking to talk privately? She just immediately assumed to know what he said wanted. It should make him put up his guard asap, but nope. On top of that, the whole story she tells him about his parents makes his mother look like an asshole. She clearly doesn't love the father if she can't trust his magic. Making arrangements for unborn children is the most selfish shit parents can do anyway, unless they are loose preparations, like saving up money for the child's future or something. But saying "Nah, he can't learn that, because I dislike it" is just blatantly disregarding the child's own choices. What's even the point? It doesn't seem to.be specifically dangerous to the user. From the way the story is set, it's also not illegal and people have differing opinions on it. Can your child not use this magic, because you would find it disgusting? In that case, what about your husband and your feelings toward him, lady? In general, the oldest son would be expected to lead the family in the next generation, if nothing happens to change that logical step. But within that territory, the head of house also leads a magic tower - the black magic tower, to be precise. How do you keep this running, when the next head of house is forbidden from learning this type of magic? What nonsensical bullshit is that?
