I like Low Tide in Twlight (Waterside Night), I hate Jinx. At least bro actually had something resembling a redemption. Jaekyung or whatever his name is didn’t even love Dan, lol. Did he even apologize? LTiT actually knew his wrongdoings, knew all he was doing was hurting him and ran away, and tried to stay far away from him, even telling his family or people he knew not to tell the guy where we was or what he was doing.

It’s okay if you didn’t like the story for whatever reason. I’m just trying to understand why, because it follows close parallels with Waterside Down, only with changes in pacing. Jaekyung did apologize to Kim Dan and also tried to stay away from him when he came to terms that he wasn’t good for him, despite finally realizing he loved him AND he also prevented Kim Dan from drowning himself(sound familiar?) I personally liked both stories, but I did like Waterside a bit more, despite that there was way more blatant rape/coercion(& murder) than in Jinx. I think people just didn’t like Jink because of Jaekyung’s unlikable personality and because his redemption arc wasn’t as long, which fair, who doesn’t like to see a man grovel on his knees. But Kim Dan's personality is also way different than Kim Euihyun‘s so even if Jaekyung did start groveling, it would have just make Kim Dan uncomfortable.

I don’t personally feel like Jaekyung felt bad for anything he did, he was just mad he lost Dan. That’s my primary reason for liking LTiT more, and his wasn’t his redemption maybe 10 episodes, it’s been a minute since I read it. I liked Taeju’s more just because you could see the regret, and even after getting Euihyun back, after the miscarriage he still didn’t think he deserved him and ran off. Continued to care for him financially but left him, he even knew where he would be, but disappeared for a whole month. And, he only came back because Haesong (Maybe his name?) called Taeju saying Euihyun was drunk, took him back to his place and continued to try to leave even after entering a rut whilst still with Euihyun who was more than willing to help him with it.
Though, I do agree that Dan would’ve been uncomfortable if Jaekyung did something similar, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have only apologized. I just don’t feel Jaekyung even tried to redeem himself. I
