Babes hate to break it to you, but trans people barely get any representation in media, let alone in this genre. Tropes like this become a rare way for trans people to feel seen, even if the character isn't explicitly trans in canon.
The transphobia isn't about whether the character's backstory is canonically trans. The transphobia is insisting that a relationship between two men is suddenly straight just because of one person's anatomy. Reducing a man and a mlm relationship down to biology erases trans men and misses the whole point. But hey enjoy shitting on trans people !!
