Let me add more..
In multiple situations and under multiple circumstances, he constantly has this idea of tying Nanjo to himself, whether through his shenanigans or by making sure Nanjo will remember him even if he has to die. Like, y’all have been trying to brush off the fact that he’s a rapist, and now you’re trying to rewrite the history of his manipulative nature. Nanjo had every right to point that out. You can’t just brush everything off in the name of depression lmao yes, not everyone with depression is manipulative, but Mokyeon was—and still is—manipulative throughout his “relationship,” or whatever you want to call it, with Nanjo. Y’all are low-key projecting yourselves onto this self-centered, manipulative rapist to the point where you can’t even accept valid criticism of his flawed character lmho
The author already clarified that they didn’t explicitly write Mokyeon as someone with BPD. In this story, he just has his own personal battles, because the author believes everyone has their own struggles without necessarily needing to put a diagnosis on them. So I don’t think “borderline” is meant to be interpreted as in bpd being the huge main theme lol.
I guess author saw theories, people projected their diagnosis on Mokyeok and how people interpreted the english title was like "what hold on"
first of all, he wasn't threatening him. he was telling him what he was going through. and there's a difference between saying, ‘I'm hurting and I don't know what to do anymore,’ and saying, ‘If you don't do what I want, I'll hurt myself.’ the first one is someone expressing their pain. the second one is a threat or manipulation.
he's even apologizing of what he've done to him. he wasn't trying to control him. he was trying to tell him that he was hurting. and regretting what he did, he's been depress that he was not in his right mind because the person he love doesn't not forgive him. to the point of him thinking that dying is key for him to be forgiven of what he did and he think that way because HE IS DEPRESS idk why people think depression is a joke? does expressing what you feel is now wrong? so instead of judging him for expressing his self while drunk, maybe understand that he was struggling and hurting where he can't take it anymore. and foremost bro's trying to change cause it's his first love. first love experience.
and we have different perspective, if that's how you see it then it's up to you. ain't argue something trivial.
I was thinking the same thing. He was just getting all them thoughts off his chest. Like if he really wanted to manipulate him in that moment, he would’ve pulled out his wrist. And he would’ve said if you don’t come back to me right now, I will kill myself. And you know what if I was that desperate and my husband of 16 years thought he was gonna do me like this I would tell him I was cashing out too. Just to fuck him over.
All of that won't change the fact that he's depressed and manipulative. Aside from his drunk rambling, there are so many blatant manipulative thoughts about how he's going to make sure Nanjo won't be able to forget him. Like, “Ah, maybe this could make Nanjo accept me out of pity,” or whatever. Even in his last conscious moment before getting hit, the thought that crossed his mind was basically, “Ah, how can I weaponize this against Nanjo?”
Again, the man had been nothing but a manipulative little shit even before his depression took him to a new low. Just because you're depressed and not manipulative doesn't mean that applies to Mokyeon too, lol. Stop projecting onto that fictional rapist, you all cant accept valid criticism about his manipulative self because poor litol guy is depressed with harsh childhood awe
Umm no you have misinterpreted the sentiment behind the statement quite a bit. Author said it so that people DO NOT stereotype the mental disorder by thinking that THIS is how a person with mental disorder behaves. They said it because layman DO NOT know how personality disorders work and they are bound to stick label to something carelessly including themselves so they do not wanna comment on it. Layman can also start believing that a mental disorder is what defines someone's whole personality when it is not quite true and can also start excusing one's behaviour citing they have certain disorder. They NEVER said you can't have your own subjective interpretations, only that you carefully navigate these interpretations. And as a forensic psychologist, i can tell you his primary diagnosis IS Borderline personality disorder, differential diagnosis being seperation anxiety disorder and comorbities being substance use disorder.
where are you at? I was talking about what he is now, are you blind? we are acting here as if one them are innocent when both did screw up each other. and we can clearly see he's depress in every action and decision he made. and was it funny to make fun someone depressed childhood? how immature, you probably haven't experienced that kind of thing for you to say that easily. I'm not taking any side here, I was just talking about how the character is trying to improve their self where other people still against it, I'm even hoping that they will not end up each other because of how trashy their personality is, neither of them are good people because both are pos.

who's manipulating who? if you are depress people will automatically think they wanted to end their lives, and he's drunk obviously? he doesn't know that he's been telling all of his thoughts to him without realizing cause he was drunk, we judge as if we didn't think the same way if we get depress lol.
