I don't remember koi having run away at any point, it's more that Ashley is always anxious and very possessive, but koi is pretty naive and doesn't really realize and always gives in to Ashley. But Ashley did get a vila far from the city when they had kids, like the main house, to limit koi's human interactions cus he's very jealous, but koi likes it cus it was big and in a quiet place, he's even jealous of his kids
