I don't think they are different people. I think Alex is in a time loop. The system gave him such menial tasks that somehow always come in handy for his current life. Like the system was preparing him for it. He's strong, knows how to cook, knows the future, he's everything he needs to be for his wife. That's why the system is built around her age for him. In his dui h words he said he wanted to love her and be the perfect husband. I don't think he's getting memories from Alec, I think they are his memories. He's been reborn so many times that he can't remember anymore or the system took away his memories so his trauma wouldn't get it the way. This is just my theory but I'm pretty good at predicting plots
