i read the novel a while ago so i dont remember it perfectly, but zhenya seemed to freak out way more. i think there was a moment where he shoved his fingers down taekjoos throat to open his airway more, and after doing that is when he puts his head to his chest to hear if he’s breathing. when this happens, zhenya is so paralyzed and flustered he can’t tell whether the harsh breathing he’s hearing is taekjoos or his own. this leads to his sweat falling on taekjoo, everything making him realize how much this is affecting him. so after lowk saving him (after practically killing him U_U), he leaves.
well the whole last chapter personally didn't convey how furious zhenya actually was. while i don't agree with violence i think they should have just shown how obsessed and angry zhenya is and how he will slowly begin to change due to realising his feelings. he didn't stop choking tae olga was the one who stepped in and if she didn't who knows when or of zhenya would stop. he was in such a state of shock that the was sweating and got tears in his eyes. i don't know how to explain it but his emotions were described in such detail and while he was shocked just like in the manhwa he agonised over next few minutes after he choked tae. he compressed his chest listened to his heartbeat and tried everything to make sure he is alive. at one point he even had to stick his fingers inside teakjoos neck to rearrange the windpipe that the squished. again i don't condone violence but that cruel act that the did shows how self absorbed and selfish zhenya is and the panic and emotions after show how he changes/will change for taekjoo.
compered to the novel this is really underwhelming. idk i just think it didn't express zhenyas emotions at all and i'm a bit disappointed because this part of the story plays a crucial role in developing their relationship
