Monster Meat

mintea September 1, 2026 9:34 am

Hmm, it’s interesting how many times monster meat is brought up.

Not only is it an illegal item to hold, it’s also something two members of the royal family use when they can. The Emperor for his birds and the Crown Prince for himself. I wonder why the Crown Prince worked as a mercenary. If the monster meat is technically addictive and can cause issues within animals and humans, has anybody in universe researched its addictive properties? Is there a way to curb monster meat addiction other than not consuming it? What exactly does it so to the mind other than making the subject crave it?

Of course, I could be misinterpreting the text, but it doesn’t seem to be a staple in the culinary world in the empire at least. I wonder if it’s a common dish in another part of this universe.

I didn't read you comment cause spoiler tag, but have you seen the bg3 scene where Tav can eat from a dead thing? That's what your comment title "monster meat" reminded me of. (ノ≧∇≦)ノ

If you haven't seen it I recommend watching a youtube comp of all the gangs reactions! Some people are disgusted while others-

I love BG3! I haven’t finished playing, but the reactions are amazing ~

Larian Studios also developed Divinity Original Sin 2 and in that game you can play as an elf, they can eat flesh and see the deceased’s memories. I love unique interpretations of elves.

EHEHEH!!!! Bg3 can be so fun! That's pretty neat with the memory reading, but ew!

In Elder Scrolls, Wood Elves have a pact to eat sentient creatures flesh for some reason? You'd have to look deeper into it.

In "At the End of the Hidden Greenery" the elves are a male species who are reverse harem based and born from trees. They're also atheists.

In "The Greatest Estate Developer" the elves are carnivorous and believe that plants are their friends and are sacred.

    Your welcome!

The author of "The Greatest Estate Developer" has 3 other works which have the elves and their different representations:

"What a Bountiful Harvest Demon Lord" i recommend if you want more from the same team who worked on "The Greatest Estate Developer".

"The Dragon Kings Chef" It's a cute slice of life comedy. I got bored though.

    "The Apothecary Prince" -
Not my thing, but some people like it. The prince was a pseudoscience "doctor" and it's all represented as actually helpful real world medical science. It tries to be funny and exciting but it all falls flat for me.
One of of the team literally said that they wanted to adapt a famous work rather than out of passion. It really shows for me. I didn't know about any of this before reading and read to chapter 40, I wanted to stop at 10 but pushed myself because I hoped it would change. I binged it too.
