According to the novel, i believe that is the real mom. I believe she was a spy that fell in love. And then ended up splitting up the family. I believe she later gives her life to save the little girl.
Well, tbh the first look reveal of the mom looks like a fake heroine/villainess already lolol so her being bitch is kinda a big give away
