This is exactly what I don’t understand. The MC is shown sleeping with different people, and most of the MLs are aware of it. He’s single, none of them are actually his boyfriends at that point, and he isn’t betraying anyone. I actually like that he has had different experiences because it makes him feel more experienced and different from the usual MCs. So why are people so fucking fixated on calling him a “slut”?

And I’m not saying all the MLs are manwhores. Kyungtae is clearly a virgin, so he obviously doesn’t count. But the other two aren’t exactly innocent or inexperienced either, and it’s completely possible they’ve slept with other people before. The story revolves around the MC, so naturally we see more of his experiences than theirs. Not being shown doesn’t mean it never happened. We simply don’t know their entire sexual history.

What makes the double standard even more ridiculous is that there are plenty of famous, highly rated “green-flag” BLs where the ML is literally a manwhore with a sexual past while the MC is a virgin. Yet nobody constantly slut-shames the ML. Everyone just goes, “It’s his past, so what?” and moves on. So why can’t you apply that exact same standard here? If a manwhore ML’s past can be dismissed as “just his past,” then why is the MC’s sexual history suddenly a reason to call him a slut? You can dislike him or his choices, but constantly reducing him to that while giving MLs a free pass is just a blatant double standard. Why are you people so fucking fixated on him?

Bottoms always get misogyny hate, even if they are men because they bottom they get treated as the "woman" by readers, so if they arent perfect pure virgins they are slut-shamed. Ive read BL for a decade and its always like this. Its exhausting and hateful but thats how romance readers in general act.

I wish I could like this more than once! Exactly, even if the MC WAS a whore (which is arguable because 1) it's not like he's cheating on anyone and 2) most of his sexual experiences so far have been basically pushed onto him by the 'plot'), there are so many manwhore semes in BL manhwas, this is refreshing! I got so tired of playboy MLs (with authors insisting on showing us sex scenes between him and other npc characters, including orgies) x innocent virgin ukes. And again, basically all sex scenes with all male leads have been kinda pushed onto him (I admit that the plot is idiotic lmao but still), especially due to him being an omega. It's not like he actively seduced all of them only to abandon them and go to another, it was the opposite: he's just surviving as an omega and the semes are fighting over him, it's fair (both in fiction and irl) to not know who you like and have multiple sexual experiences before deciding to date (or not)

Because we, alas, live in a society who likes slut shaming people who are in the “bottom” role. (Not all societies of course, but it’s still widely spread, in part thanks to monotheist religions). “Bottom” roles are heavily linked to women’s roles, and women shouldn’t enjoy sex. Even less if they are not in a one on one relationship.

It’s probably one of the reason why cnc toward penetrated people is so widely spread in fiction: that way people in “women” positions can enjoy sex without being slut shamed, since they didn’t want it. (In a very summarized way).

People are widely misogynistic and puritans.

Exactly. In plenty of highly rated BLs, including the so-called toxic ML stories, the ML is literally shown sleeping with other people multiple times right from the beginning. Yet the same people who are so quick to slut-shame bottoms here don’t even bat an eye. There’s usually a virgin bottom in those stories, and nobody starts calling the ML a whore or judging him for his sexual history. They just go, “It’s his past,” and move on.

A perfect example is Behind the Scene (or Behind the Stage, whatever the exact title is). Nobody questions the ML there even though he’s shown sleeping around. People literally go ballistic over him, calling him hot and attractive, yet here they’re constantly calling this MC a “slut” just because he has a sexual history and the story actually shows it. When the ML does it, he’s hot and experienced; when the MC/bottom does it, suddenly he’s a slut. Like, be fucking serious.

I’m not saying this plot is perfect too it can be ridiculous or messy sometimesbut at least it shows that the MC has sexual desires and a life outside of whoever the ML is. He’s single, none of these people are actually his boyfriends, and the MLs know about his experiences. We also don’t know the full sexual history of the other MLs; the story revolves around the MC, so obviously we see more of his side. Kyungtae is clearly a virgin, but the other two aren’t exactly innocent or inexperienced either. They could have slept with other people we simply haven’t been shown it.

If you want to know about their sexual experience the author wrote a Q&A after season 1 where she specified it! From what I remember Chansol is the most experienced one, Kyungtae was a complete virgin and the other 2 had experience (the leader only with women and he mainly dated). So yes, apart from Kyungtae they ALL have experience, it's just that as you said we're seeing the story from the mc's perspective

Because in the beginning, MC is always whining about 'I don't want anyone to find out I'm an omega and I can't sleep with anyone else' and blah blah. Then later on, all that self respect and dignity gets thrown out as he starts sleeping with literally everyone. So he is a slut who never had brains from the beginning. As for the main leads, they all suck as well. They're using MC and MC is letting himself be used. And then, he'll get pregnant (I hope he does) and then he'll be finding out who the baby daddy is, whilst crying and whining.

I stopped reading the manhwa but the only top I feel bad for is the black haired. He seems to actually love the MC, did try to stop himself one time or so from sleeping with the MC, and the MC is busy getting his ass whooped by other guys. The youngest top...I also feel bad for him. But yes. The MC is a slut. I've read my fair share of manhwas where the tops legit need to be thrown to prison for rape and sexual assault, so I'm not having double standards.

Just in this manhwa, I hope the uke gets pregnant and suffers, along with the tops. Except the black haired and the youngest. I hate everyone else.

speak your truth, i hate that there’s sm slut-shaming for promiscuous bottom but when it comes to tops they just like “he doesn’t realize his feelings yet”, “just wait, he’s begging for the bottom’s love”, “it’s all in the past, and it’s not like he’s responsible for the bottom’s feelings”

Basically, your entire argument is based on “the MC said he didn’t want to sleep with people because he’s an omega, but then he did,” so somehow that means he has no dignity. But that’s not the same thing. His initial concern was about people finding out he was an omega and the consequences of that, not some universal declaration that he would never have sexual desires or sleep with anyone.

He slept with the MLs for different reasons one situation was because he was in heat, and with another ML he genuinely liked him and consented to sleeping with him. So if you think his actions contradict what he said at the beginning, criticize that inconsistency. But why are you turning his sexual desires into a statement about his dignity?

Because if that’s the standard, then apply it to the MLs too. The other experienced MLs also have sexual desires, sexual histories, and have their own rougher behavior toward partners. Yet nobody seems to question their “dignity” for acting on those desires. So why is an omega having sexual desires and acting on them suddenly treated as proof that he has no self-respect?

You’re essentially separating “sexual desire” from “dignity” for the MLs but treating them as the same thing for the MC. That’s the double standard. You can criticize his choices, his inconsistency, or how the story handles his relationships—but having sex does not automatically mean someone has no dignity, and it certainly doesn’t justify calling him a slut.

And the excuses people make for the MLs are always the same: “They’re not in a relationship,” “MLs can make mistakes,” “They’re young,” “It’s just their past,” etc. Somehow every excuse under the sun is acceptable when it’s the ML.

But the moment the MC, who is also single and isn’t cheating on or betraying anyone, sleeps with someone else—which doesn’t even happen that often—the entire comment section suddenly turns hateful toward him. Suddenly he’s a “slut,” has “no dignity,” and “never had any brains.” Like, what happened to “they’re not in a relationship”? Why does that logic only work when it’s the ML?

If the ML can make mistakes because he’s young, have sexual desires because he’s an alpha, have a past because he’s experienced, and still be treated as a complex character, then the MC deserves that same grace. You don’t have to like his choices, but the completely different standards people apply to him versus the MLs are obvious as hell.
