I totally agree :(( I binged the first season a few years ago and then last year finally came back and finished the whole thing and I was soooo disappointed by the last like 3rd of the story. The initial dynamic was so good and it was fascinating to see the emotional struggle between the characters. But then suddenly Youngchan starts to get more aggressive?? And pushy?? Even though his whole storyline is about how he's a sweet guy but people find him intimidating/scary because of his size?? They had so much tension at the beginning but by the time we get to the end of the story it's mostly intense smut scenes that feel out of character and underdeveloped.
And yeah the kidnapping storyline..... "big strong man needs to save his defenceless little guy" is not where I wanted this story to go at all. I miss when the characters felt like adults. Yeah they were petty and there was a lot of over the top silly shit but what really stood out to me was that both of the leads felt like and were drawn like adult men with jobs and independent lives. Seo in particular felt like such a real, emotionally repressed guy. I miss that version of him and what the story could've done with his character. And I really loved Youngchan too but by the end I started to find him kinda intense and uncomfortable.

I want to talk about my thoughts and see if anyone agrees. The beginning dynamic is SO good and I love Seo’s characterization. I feel like the story really loses its way after the midpoint after it’s gone from enemies -> office situationship. I enjoyed the push and pull and romantic buildup but as the characters became more vulnerable it had a way of ‘taming’ Seo which completely changed his original characterization and thusly the entire romantic dynamic. Also the kidnapping plotline was crazy the story felt sorta rooted in reality (other than the insane dick size) so the random 2 day abduction that resulted in no emotional duress for the victim was really jarring to me as the reader.
I just felt the latter half dragged on. I feel like by adding all these problems to the protagonist it led the relationship into a classic yaoi dynamic which just destroys Seo’s character as an argumentative guy who is difficult to get along with. I understand it’s supposed to be him developing and understanding himself but it pretty much neuters his character.
Does anyone agree or have similar thoughts? I was just pretty disappointed at the end but the beginning was seriously so awesome.
