I am kind of disappointed how the Mom is written. I even had to go back to Ch1 to check how her first appearance went. She honestly just felt like a mom who let her daughter be taken away by the dad because she knows deep down she is better off with the dad than with her.
She just seem like a cold, tough woman. So I am surprised when Oscar suddenly said she abandoned Lilith, and throw them under the bus to protect her new family. Not even a build up. Just litreraly *plop* convenient villain.
I am not saying it's right. Or she's right. Enoch and Selena are both forced into a political marriage. And then she remarried out of love and gave birth again I think Enoch not being angry knowing she's the reason they got found shows he understood she made certain decision as a parent who have someone to protect now. Not saying that justifies it but I just feel like she's poorly written because the author forced a parent villain just so Lilith could have a tragic background.
I am assuming Selena would only get worse because the author is forcing that shallow, pulled out of their ass villain trope, making her a iredeemable vile character. I love the webtoon but I just HAAAAATE forced/convenient character just to force narratives.
She is vile for favoring one child to the other, Yes. But i think it's just badly written that she is iredeemable.
