I'm a hold your hands when I say this... MC will continue to act like a door with no backbone, but the ML is very protective of him... Later on they split and ML fumbles BAD BAD BAD, but he apologizes and they get back together... Then ML feels like SHIT and starts to treat him like a little princess made of glass... And starts to chase the guy who mistreat our MC.
This is not a fluffy healthy relationship, but is not super duper toxic either; they both have VERY codependency on each other, and ML is extremely traumatized from past betrayals but he gets better and learns to trust the MC also he's slowly learning to control his possessiveness to not make the MC lose social life.
Again, it's not 100% healthy but not 100% toxic, we have seen worse lol. It's lukewarm, I would say. If that's not your cup of tea, that's okay. I personally don't agree with a lot of things the MC and the ML do, but I'm reading just to see if they will grow to be better for each other.

Yes, they already resolved their primary issue, but at least on this adaptation there's a lot of chasing from the ML; he gets pretty pathetic, on his knees and all and genuinely feels bad about everything he did, even thinks about ending himself because he thinks MC would be better without him, but from what I heard in the novel, there's much more chasing. ML eventually thinks "that's dumb as hell I need to be a better bf and find that mf who hurt my precious MC". Anyway, in the latest chapters they are very happy and living together again, but the ML is still chasing the guy with red hair that abused (in a physical way, not sexual) the MC; he wants him to pay BAD.
And from my understanding, ML is learning to be more trusting around other people (like baby: not everyone is gay) and is starting to control his possessiveness more because he saw how happy MC gets when he interacts with people and has a social life.
