tbh i think its very refreshing to have a flawed mc. i hope you realize that a lot of thalia's problems are rooted from senevier. and (SPOILER) varkas has loved thalia since the beginning but hes been brainwashed as a child and all this terrible stuff.

Plus I believe that (unfortunately) many ML’s in other stories have similar issues and traumas to Thalia’s but people just forgive them because they are so sad and so miserable and had redemption arc but when a woman git those problems it’s suddenly “weird” and annoying
