I did like how it started. I was deeply invested seeing how their relationship may develop and how things may change. And while the Duke's attitude towards Ilic may have changed from the start and how he treated him, the way Ilic acted only changed the barest amount. Even with the time-skip of 10 years, they STILL acted the same. Ilic still acted reluctant, he still acted as if he was fighting affection for the duke, and yet literally the chapter prior to that extra it hints that he may be falling in love with the duke. So seeing that even after 10 years their development honestly stagnated, it's a little disappointing. I think more chapters may have been good to flesh this out especially in maybe letting Ilic learn of the voice the Duke hears, but oh well. While it was a fun read at points, I found myself overall disappointed.
